Academic Portfolio
Welcome to my undergraduate portfolio. Within lies the culmination of all of my work at Alma College. The academic reflection chronicles my academic experiences, positive and negative, and evaluates both my own work and the English program at the Alma College. The personal statement is a short essay on my future.
My capstone project is the first modern editon of Sarah Blackborrow's A Visit to the Spirit in Prison. As a Quaker preacher and prophetess, Blackbarrow demonstrates how women of the seventeeth could find ways to gain exposure for their beliefs and ideas. Blackborrow's work is only one of a tide of early women's work resceiving scholarly attention after centuries of rotting unread on library shelves. Credit for this exposure goes mainly to newfound accessibility through electronic databases.
